Bikini waxes are a pretty straightforward cosmetic procedure. You lie down, spread open, get wax applied on your pubic area and have it peeled off really fast.

Simple. No complications. Or is there?

While bikini waxing carries no major problems, it can cause some minor irritation.

An untrained attendant can pull without enough force that it will end up a painful process. Worse, a bad waxing can leave you with a burn that can last for a couple of days. It can also leave ingrown hairs, making for an extremely itchy and undesirable next few days.

You will usually be applied with a soothing antiseptic after the procedure to calm any irritation. Make sure to bring your own lotion as well in case the effect of their compound begins to wane after a couple of hours.

As Brazilian waxing involves some discomfort, always follow up with a hair inhibitor. Besides being kind to the skin and suitable for the most sensitive areas of the body, the inhibitors significantly reduce hair growth so Brazilian waxing sessions are much less frequent.

Additionally, you can also use anti-itching creams when the area begins to itch which will happen when it’s growing new hair.

With hair inhibitors, you need to be careful as it is a snake-oil industry with many products pretending to be the best.
